Photo day and Recital photos

Overview

We’re excited to capture all the memories of our dancers’ hard work this year! Professional photography is provided for both Photo Day and Recital. Please make sure your dancer has all required items beforehand to avoid delays.


*Note: For the safety of our dancers and to comply with copyright laws, personal photography and videography are strictly prohibited during both Photo Day and Recital. Only our professional photographer is permitted to take pictures.

  • Photo Day: Professional photos will be available for purchase.

  • Recital: High-quality photos will be provided to families, and Recital videos are available for purchase.

Photo Day

Photo Day will be held at Dance Directions Studio on Saturday, April 18.

What to expect

  • All dancers will be photographed in full costume, with hair and makeup done, just as they will appear at Recital.

  • Each dance group will have one group photo with the option for one individual photo.

  • Exact times for each group will be provided in the schedule below.

Arrival

  • Please arrive 20 minutes before your dancer’s scheduled photo time.

  • Ensure your dancer arrives with hair and makeup done and costume on.

During Photo Day

  • Staff will check that all dancers have the correct shoes, tights, and accessories.

  • Adjustments to costumes or undergarments may be made as needed.

What to Bring on Photo Day

  • Costume in its labeled garment bag

  • Dance shoes, tights, and recital underwear

  • Hair accessories, bobby pins, hairspray, and hair ties

  • Makeup

  • Nutritious snack and labeled water (no juice or soft drinks)

  • Optional: Quiet activity if there’s a long wait

Additional Notes

  • All nail polish should be removed and no jewelry should be worn

Recital Photography

Our talented resident photographer, Joern Rohde, will photograph all recital performances.

  • All photos are included in your recital fee, and families will receive high-quality digital copies via email.

  • Photos include group and individual shots on stage during the recital.

No personal photography or video is allowed during the recital—this ensures safety, copyright compliance, and high-quality professional photos for everyone.
